This is 1 of the most distinctive, individual and best engineered trike's on the market - perhaps even since it was built in the late 1990's ! Built by Bill Chaplin of Empire Racing Car fame, the genius behind the worlds top Hill Climb machines. Had the pleasure of owing this for the last 5/6 years. Suffice to say for the moment, that whilst the deal is more important the the value you will not get it for £5k folks - be realistic at £15k. Unique and stunning, professionaly manufactured Road Legal Hillclimb / Racing Trike is powered by Honda's bullet proof CBR1000 engine - and YES you could even fit a bigger engine easilly. It's registered 1968 and is ROAD TAX EXEMPT too!!! This is a extremely well known machine, and ours for the last 5 years, based on the very sucessfull and trophy winning F1 Suzuki GSXR engined UK Hill Climb (Sprint) Trike of the 1990's (which appears to have dissapeared into the mists of time but we managed to find some pics of the original machine in its heyday). The cost to build this, it was a special commission, was £20,000 in 1999!! thats equivilent to £40,000+ at todays value...... The build spec is amazing and far too detailed to list here. However, viewing is highly recomended as this is a true engineers dream and a rolling work of art! yet it can be ridden quite happily on the road !!!! End of 2014 it underwent a partial makeover - diff stripped, New seals, New oil etc. Brand new £100 mechanical handbrake Caliper, Pads, New handbrake cable, New handbrake lever. New rear brake caliper, pads and fluid, steering joints, bearings, coolant, oil, plugs, K&N's and on and on. Only driven about 30 miles since. Done about 500 miles on it last year. Have had it since 2009 and had many a good ride on it. This is 100% LEGAL in the UK and is "FULLY" photo documented with the DVLA "as seen here" since 2009 - so obsolutely NO worries on that score (unlike many others advertised on FeGreatbritainlisted) - we did that ourselves as the vehicle had never been properly registered before that point. The machine is built of a fully engineered top quality steel trellis frame with much stainless and chrome and is fairly low maintenance as a result. There is absolutley NOTHING on this machine that does not need to be there (except for the nod to current technology in the form of a USB port!). Unlike a Harley, Goldwing or Boom/Rewaco type trike - with this one you are guaranteed that NO ONE ELSE will have one!!!! no matter where you go.....Basics: Honda, CBR1000F engine (rebuilt & Dyno'd), Prop drive to BMW diff, Formula 3 rear suspension - fully rose/heim jointed/adjustable with custom OVAL tube, Centre hub steering, Ford brake calipers, Custom stainless everything and soooo much else. The screen is quickly removeable - but very usefull for motorway driving as is the "water shield" on the carbs. There is a pile of history available with this machine that is a good nights reading on it's own! and even a copy of the Back Street Hero's magazine in which is was given a full feature in 2000. It was worthy of a similar feature again in TRIKE Magazine this time in 2010 so come on folks come and see it!! MOT until Aug 2015 & Free Road tax too. Width of machine is 1900 mm across rear wheels/tyres - fits on most car transporter trailers - remove the wing (4-bolts) remove the wheels and stick it in a Transit.
